How do I place an order online?

When you see a rug you like, simply select a size and click "Buy Now" at the bottom of any product detail page. You will be directed to your shopping cart. You may continue browsing the website and add more to the shopping cart or you may begin to check out.  When you check out, you will need to provide your billing and shipping information. Please make sure your billing address matches that of the cardholder. You are then brought to the final page where you can check your order, go back to make changes, and process the order. After you have placed your order successfully, you may expect an invoice via email and your purchase to be delivered within 10 business days.

Is your web site secure?

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All orders are transmitted over secure Internet connections using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and encryption technology. All of your personal information including your sign-in password are stored in encrypted format at all times. For maximum security, we do not store your Credit Card information.

What is a Account? Why should I get one and what are the benefits?

Custom Made Rugs

Any rug can be custom made. Click here and let us know what you are looking for and we will send you a quote for your order. Custom made rugs generally take three to four months to make and are not returnable.

Do you give special discounts to the Trade?

Do you give special discounts to non-profits?

YES! We aim to support educational, arts, and cultural institutions, and have already had our products specified for a number of museums, theatres and universities. These institutions receive a 10% discount. You must call 1-800-830-RUGS ext 1 to receive a non-profit coupon code. Showroom

At this time, is strictly an online store with corporate headquaters in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Our 500,000 square feet of warehouses stock the most comprehensive collection of modern rugs available today. If you don't see what you are looking for, chances are we probably have it. How can I return a product?

We seldom have returns. As a rule, our clientelle is much happier once they see the product in person. It is above and beyond their expectations.

If, for any reason, you would like to return a rug, we will gladly provide a refund for rug purchases within 15 days of receipt*. A 15% restocking fee applies for all qualified returns. For return authorization, you may request return authorization by sending an email to or you may call us direct at 1-800-830-RUGS extension 2. Once you have been given the return authorization number, you must clearly write it on the outside of the package in permanant marker and send the rug back to our warehouse. RUGS RETURNED WITHOUT A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER WILL BE REFUSED AT THE WAREHOUSE AND SENT BACK TO THE SENDER.

* Note: All sales are final for Christopher Fareed rugs and Imported products. Such products are usually clearly marked in the description. If you are unsure whether a product is returnable please contact our design/sales representatives and they'll be happy to assist you.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Most of our rugs are in stock and can be shipped within two to five working days. That means that you should receive your order within ten working days. If a rug is not in stock we will contact you with the expected delivery date. Most accessories are made to order and are shipped within two to four weeks. How much does shipping cost?

Shipping charges are our expense. We like to keep thing simple for you. If you require an overnight express order, shipping charges will apply.

How will my order be delivered?

We ship most products from one of our US warehouses via UPS ground service.. In some cases, we ship direct from our manufacturers overseas.

Can you ship international orders?

Yes, we can ship to most countries. Just send an email to and let us know which rugs and sizes you are interested in as well as your shipping address and we will let you know whether we can ship to you and what your shipping cost would be. 


How can I be removed from the E-Newsletter list?

If you would prefer not to receive the E-Newsletter, simply send an E-Mail to with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line. Your E-Mail address will automatically be removed from the list.
